Yaki Udon Recipe

OMG!!! Some Japanese person who lives outside of Japan invented(?) a way you can turn regular pasta into Asian noodles!
All you have to do is boil regular pasta in boiling water with 1 tbsp of bi-carb soda. If you use spaghetti, it will become yakisoba....! How awesome is that!!!???
I didn't have any spaghetti at home so I used fettuccine instead and...it really became YAKI UDON. I could not believe it! I live in Upwey and there are no Asian grocery shops around here. This is so cool...I can buy pasta anywhere and turn them into Asian noodles.
One thing you have to be careful of is the way it cooks. The pasta water really bubbles up lots more than usual SO use a bigger than usual pot.

*200g fettuccine
*1 tbsp bi-carb soda
*half onion - sliced
*half green capsicum - sliced
*50g pork or beef - sliced
*1 tbsp sesame oil
*1 knob of garlic - chopped
*2 tbsp SAORI Tsuyu (Seaweed & Soya) Japanese Sauce
*2 tbsp oyster sauce
*pepper or chilli to taste
*optional - bonito flakes

1: boil fettuccine in boiling water with bi-carb soda for recommended cooking time + 3 minutes. (mine was 7 minutes so I cooked it for 10 minutes)
2: rinse the pasta (which are now Asian noodles) in cold water
3: fry garlic in sesame oil until golden brown, then cook the meat and vegetables
4: add the pasta (Asian noodles) into the frying pan and then flavour with SAORI Tsuyu Sauce and oyster sauce. Mix it well.
5: serve in a bowl and put pepper or chilli to taste.
6: garnish with bonito flakes (optional)
